Encore Mobility™ Deer Velvet and GLM Joint Supplement for Dogs- The Science
Deer Velvet has been widely used in Traditional Chinese medicine for over 2000 years to reduce inflammation and boost the immune system. A Canadian study looked at the effect of Green Lipped Mussel rich diet on pain behaviour and function in dogs with clinically significant osteoarthritis and found after 30 days the plasma (blood) levels of Omega 3 increased and a beneficial effect on gait (walking) and motor activity was seen by both owners and veterinarians. GLM fed dogs had improvements in long-term (chronic) pain in a study which explored alternative therapies from osteoarthritis. The GLM diets were less effective than traditional nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs- positive control) but much greater than with placebo (negative control), indicating a significant role in therapy when NSAIDS are contraindicated.
