Deer Velvet has been widely used in Traditional Chinese medicine for over 2000 years to reduce inflammation and boost the immune system. Harvested during the rapid growth stage, Deer Velvet contains growth factors, including IGF-1 (Insulin-like Growth Factor), a natural hormone that stimulates growth in most cells of the body- including muscle, cartilage, bone, nerves and skin.
Green Lipped Mussel is a well-known joint supplement for dogs. Rich in Omega 3s are long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids that are beneficial for cell production and reduce inflammation. Both DV and GLM also contain in chondroitin sulfate which helps to build healthier joints to prevent arthritis pain.
Clinical proof of Deer Velvet’s efficacy has been shown in pet dogs with osteoarthritis or degenerative joint disease- where those fed Deer Velvet improved their gait (walking ability), activities of daily living and vitality during the 60 day trial. The study established that feeding Deer Velvet is beneficial to support mobility. Moreau et al., 2004. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC548602/
A Canadian study looked at the effect of Green Lipped Mussel rich diet on pain behaviour and function in dogs with clinically significant osteoarthritis and found after 30 days the plasma (blood) levels of Omega 3 increased and a beneficial effect on gait (walking) and motor activity was seen by both owners and veterinarians. Rialland et al., 2013. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3525174/
An earlier study published in The Journal of Nutrition in 2002, similarly showed that 83% of dogs who received GLM powder in their diets showed a significant reduction in arthritic signs and improvements in pain scores. Bierer and Bui, 2002. https://academic.oup.com/jn/article/132/6/1634S/4687864
GLM fed dogs had improvements in long-term (chronic) pain in a study which explored alternative therapies from osteoarthritis. The GLM diets were less effective than traditional nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs- positive control) but much greater than with placebo (negative control), indicating a significant role in therapy when NSAIDS are contraindicated. Hielm-Bjorkman et al., 2009. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18955269
The all-natural formulation of Encore Mobility contains key ingredients from New Zealand Bioactive Deer Velvet and Green Lipped Mussel which work synergistically to benefit your dog. Since osteoarthritis and degenerative joint disease is caused by the deterioration of the cartilage in the joints and inflammation in the tissues, which make movement painful- daily feeding of Encore Mobility can help to stimulate the repair of joint cartilage with healthy doses of glucosamine and chondroitin.
Active ingredients - New Zealand Deer Velvet 427 mg and New Zealand Green Lipped Mussel 320 mg
Bioactive Deer Velvet contains collagen and other proteins, chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine (glycosaminoglycans or GAGs) and pilose antler peptide with anti-inflammatory action. GAGs are major components of the joint cartilage and fluid. Deer velvet has also been demonstrated to strengthen the immune system in Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years. It provides a natural, holistic treatment for acute and chronic inflammation including joints, skin and other body tissues, by modulating and balancing the immune system.
Bioactive Green Lipped Mussel contains Omega-3s, chondroitin sulfate (GAGs), amino acids, vitamins and minerals. The Omega 3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) have excellent anti-inflammatory effects while vitamins and minerals add antioxidant benefits. GAGs such as Chondroitin are recommended by Veterinarians to treat osteoarthritis- they work synergistically with Omega-3 fatty acids, to reduce inflammation, stimulate the growth of cartilage and lubricate the joints.
Both Bioactive Deer Velvet and Green Lipped Mussel work naturally with the body and are safe to take long term. The chewable tablets are highly palatable for dogs and can be given as treats. 90 chewable tablets per bottle.
