Aging gracefully and chronic conditions

At Paws in Motion we do not limit the benefits of rehabilitation to patients recovering from injuries or illness.

Massage therapy, heat therapy, acu-laser and electromagnetic field therapy are very therapeutic, especially for our geriatric pets that need that extra care as they age gracefully.

Joint pain, weight gain, soreness, loss of flexibility, strength and mobility raise extra challenges that affect pet activity and enjoyment of life.

In addition to being indicated for chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis, laser and massage therapy have energising benefits that help to maintain quality of life in aging cats, dogs and rabbits.

A gentle fitness exercise programme and nutritional advice, including advice on supplements, can help the older pet to achieve or maintain an appropriate weight for their condition and stage of life, to promote their fitness and well-being.

If needed, we can also guide you in assessing and monitoring your pet’s quality of life.

Paws in Motion offers veterinary nurse consultations for your senior pets. Please see Wellness Pet Check for more information on this home care service.

Elbow Dysplasia in a young Rottweiler

Chloe, a super sweet 2-year-old Rottweiler who enjoyed long hikes with her owners and playing with other dogs, came to Paws in Motion with intermittent right front leg lameness and a head bob. Her owners were very keen to get Chloe back to full function and out hiking again.

Adding some splash to the summer fun!

As we are bathing in the sunshine and heat, there’s nothing like running into the sea, creating a splash, and enjoying the summer to its fullest. Check out some of the doggie-friendly beaches in Hong Kong and have an adventure with your fur-kids.
