However, she suffered from a vestibular (inner ear) episode, affecting her balance, which often occurs in older dogs. It became extremely difficult for her to get up, stand and walk by herself. She also had a significant amount of muscle loss and weight loss, affecting her strength.
Dusty received weekly laser treatment to improve cell regeneration and tissue healing. She also snoozes while she enjoys her massage and stretches to help muscle mobility and improve circulation.
On daily basis, she receives Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy- Assisi Loop a few times a day along with warm packs (thermotherapy) to help manage joint and muscle soreness.
At home, her pawrents uses a Help’em Up Harness to support her into standing and to help position for toileting. Dr Buzby’s Toe Grips were also applied to help increase traction to move and to prevent any slipping indoor. When she goes outside, she is supported by a quad cart to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air.
